Umami Series Ep. 2: White Hot

Hello, dear reader. I really shouldn't be making this a habit. Just happy you're still here.

So, here's some poetry I penned last night. I thought the first line was cool, and this was the outcome:

ree

White Hot

On my way to the charity line, I fistbumped a meteor

And I swore not to fret, frown, or fixate

As the earth shuddered at its deserved fate

Yet a dozen kids waited on patiently, an apron set aside for me

"Hey boy and girls, I imagine you hold on to your dreams

With the grip of one with the fire of youth still, torches of hope ablaze

How I wish the sun kept its promise and kept cold reality away

Alas, we failed you, brace yourselves for the final act of this play!"

On my way to my prison cell, I heard the click, the dreaded click

The triumph of anger and ego

Zero hour, the announcement of a voice eerily jocose

A deluge of destruction in tow, world powers in a deadly duet

"Hello ladies and gentlemen, I imagine your nightmares pursuing you

With the relentlessness of a pack of wild dogs on warm Red Bull

How I wish hell would freeze over, yet the flames of vice won't die down in the heart of man

Alas, you have outdone yourselves, skilled architects of anxiety and trauma!"

On my way to the charity line, all was...gone.

Isn't poetry something? I have a lot to say about this one, but I think I'll let the piece speak. For now.

See you around.
